Purpose Inform certain involuntarily separated TSMs they may be entitled to separation pay

Separation pay eligibility amounts are determined by the type of separation Separation Program Designator (SPD) determines members eligible for separation pay.

Involuntary Separation Pay Finished first term of enlistment or period of obligated service At least six years of service Separating involuntarily Not yet eligible for retirement Not separating under adverse conditions

Levels of involuntary separation pay Full Honorable discharge, fully qualified for retention Half Honorable or General discharge

Disqualifying Factors Choosing not to reenlist Returning a C-Way quota Leaving during initial term of enlistment Eligible for retirement pay Separation by Court Martial Separation under other than honorable Separation for unsatisfactory performance Separation for misconduct

Obligated Service Requirement Must agree to serve 3 years in the ready reserve in addition to any other remaining service obligations
