Please let me know if your child will be playing an instrument for us during our holiday extravaganza December 21- January 8th holiday break January 9th: Students return to school What to Expect This Week: Suffix/base word review/with spelling changes Irregular verbs Currents events: using the newspaper and online kid friendly resources to pull facts- the 5Ws Letter skills (5 parts) and how to address an envelope Writing summaries that include the beginning, middle, and end of important story events Review of nonfiction text features and elements of fiction GA regions webquest/brochure project Review of all parts of speech Commas: in a letter, in a series, within dates, and between city/state Review of all addition strategies learned-4 total-new “cheat sheet” in agenda Introduction of subtraction strategies will begin after the break! Mixed review of word problems Smarty Ants and Odysseyware-get on these awesome sites all the time!
