INTASC Standard, Description and Rationale Standard #9 Professional Learning and Ethical Practice The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner Brief Description Throughout this presentation I explore the various traits, characteristics, and philosophies that make up who I am and how I want to teach. Through self examination and discovery I describe and go over the many common themes that make great teachers and bring them together to forge my own personal beliefs on how I plan to develop as an educator. Rationale To document my understanding of Standard #9, Professional Learning and Ethical Practice, I selected to include my many different and unique ways my traits and qualities impact my professional learning. I can use this statement to evaluate my effects on others and how it adapts to my students, families, other professionals and the community I belong to.
