HURON HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMEN ORIENTATION Link Crew Study Skills Workshop How to Prepare for a BIG TEST!

Introduction Write a great introduction to your presentation. What are you going to be talking about? Why is it important? Be sure to tailor your message to your audience? What are they worried about? What do they want to learn? Why does this matter to them? Add a picture to each slide. You don’t want the presentation to be too text heavy.

Before the Test Tip(s) Give tips and suggestions for what to do BEFORE the test. You need at least five of these. You could have one slide for each tip and add a picture or put a couple of tips on each page. I’d say 3-5 slides for the before test tips would be appropriate. Make your tips come alive with images, comics, memes, examples, anecdotes. Try to get at least one image on each slide!

During the Test Tips Give tips and suggestions for what to do DURING the test. You need at least five of these. You could have one slide for each tip and add a picture or put a couple of tips on each page. I’d say 3-5 slides for the during test tips would be appropriate. Make your tips come alive with images, comics, memes, examples, anecdotes. Try to get at least one image on each slide!

After the Test Tips Give tips and suggestions for what to do AFTER the test. You need at least five of these. You could have one slide for each tip and add a picture or put a couple of tips on each page. I’d say 1-2 slides for the after test tips would be appropriate. Make your tips come alive with images, comics, memes, examples, anecdotes. Try to get at least one image on each slide!

Conclusion Wrap your presentation up in style. Summarize what they learned. Remind them why it’s important. Be sure that your presentation just doesn’t suddenly STOP. Include a picture
