How do their parts help plants survive? Lesson 3

Getting and Storing Water Plants grow in all kinds of environments. An environment is everything that surrounds and affects a living thing. Plants have special features to help them survive! Look at page 24!

In warm, wet places with wet soil plants need special roots. Prop Roots Grow above wet soil. Buttress Roots Grows on the surface to widen the base of a tree.

Plants spread their seeds so they can reproduce. Spreading Seeds Plants spread their seeds so they can reproduce. Reproduce just means to make a new living thing of the same kind! Seeds are the first step.
