PIMA COUNTY 24 HOUR PM10 MONITORING DATA 1/1/2001 - 12/31/2001 Tucson, Arizona (October 19, 2001) – On Tuesday, October 16th, the Tucson Valley experienced unusually high levels of particles in the air that obscured mountain views. Official monitoring results from that day are now available and indicate that the levels of particulate matter 10 microns or less in diameter (PM10) did not exceed the EPA health standard of 150 ug/m3 (micrograms per cubic meter). On October 16th, the highest concentration of particulate matter at an official site was 134 ug/m3.
