Writing Focus: Description of a Place Transparency LA40: Description of Places Description of Places: It names the place. It tells what you can see, taste, smell, hear, and feel. It helps readers feel as if they are in the place.

Step by Step Writing Tell what we are describing in the first sentence. Now we need a sentence that describes the bakery. We need to add another sentence that describes how things look, sound, feel, or taste. SENTENCE FLUENCY: if a sentence needs to be longer to describe something better, make it longer. Who can think of a good sentence to end the description? Let’s read it together to see if it makes sense.
