Tyler Kinnaird Moore Traditional School 14-15 Moist Heat Therapy Tyler Kinnaird Moore Traditional School 14-15
The general purpose of a heat treatment is to remove toxins from cells, enhance blood flow, increase function of the tissue cells, encourage muscle relaxation, and helps relieve pain.
The moist heat packs should be in 160 to 170 degrees of hot water. Apply on the injury or pain for about 15 - 20 minutes. When using the heat packs use layers of towels between the pack and skin to avoid burning.
