background THE WATCH D.O.G.S program for dads was off to such a successful start, we asked why not do a similar programs for moms too? Let’s do it!

Watch d.o.g.s VS. Mighty m.o.m.s SIMILARITIES DIFFERENCES In your child’s classroom Time commitment (3 hour block) Lunch and recess with your child Dads stay at lunch/recess until 1:30 Library assistance Dads do security checks Scheduling will be based on 5 areas: academics, classroom administrative assistance, front office, recess, and lunch. The scope of your volunteer activities will depend heavily on the time slot you sign up for. Mighty M.O.M.S is a needs based program. Meaning volunteers will be assigned to the area of our greatest need. Time brackets are flexible. You can sign up to serve for just a few hours, ½ the day, or a full day. We welcome all opportunities to partner with you!

WHY MIGHTY M.O.M.S?

Time Location 7:30 – 7:50 Report to front office with your child: picture taking, pick up folder 7:50 – 9:00 Report to your child’s classroom. 9:00 – 10:00 Report to the library During this time: Help students check out books (especially those who don’t have friends to browse with) Float around and look for kids that might need a “friendly hello!” Assist Ms. Robinson & Ms. Backman with additional tasks   10:00 Report to the Lunchroom until your child arrives for lunch In the meantime: Help with set up, seating students Float around cafeteria and sit with students who are eating alone Enjoy lunch with your child when they arrive If your child has recess after lunch, please join them  *Please note: Some classes will have recess BEFORE lunch. See below* Lunch Schedule A lunch schedule has been attached for your reference. If your child has recess before lunch, you are welcome to join them in place of providing library assistance. If your child has recess after lunch, please join them accordingly. Dismissal You are dismissed after lunch, or your child’s recess (if you decide to join them)

Future events Making t-shirts with your child Movie night with mom Watch d.o.g.s vs. mighty m.o.m.s – volleyball, kickball! Our goal is to organize quarterly events where not just your kids get to enjoy doing fun activities with you, but any kid that wants to have a good time with their mom, their friend’s mom, or a mother figure is welcome to join in! If you’re constantly on the look out for who you DON’T want your kids to hang out with….try to change your perception and instead think about why you want to distance your child from that particular kid. Could it be that the very kid who “deserves” your child’s friendship the least is the one who needs it the most?! All ideas and suggestions are welcome!
