Essential Question: How do volcanoes affect the climate Essential Question: How do volcanoes affect the climate? Investigation Question: How do volcanoes affect the energy coming in from the atmosphere? Investigation 2 Claim: When a volcano erupts it spews out tons of volcanic ash into the atmosphere that can block out the sun. Radiation from the sun will be absorbed by the atmosphere and reflect back into space to cool the planet. The Earth's surface will become colder because of the lack of conduction and convections that occurs. Terms of Use: Atmosphere, Troposphere, Stratosphere, Ozone Layer, Radiation, Conduction, Convection

How do volcanoes affect the energy coming in from the atmosphere? Evidence 2.1 Justification How does the evidence justify the claim that when a volcano erupts it spews out tons of volcanic ash into the atmosphere that can block out the sun. Terms: Atmosphere, Troposphere, Stratosphere

How do volcanoes affect the energy coming in from the atmosphere? Justification Evidence 2.2 How does the evidence justifies the claim that radiation from the sun will be absorbed by the atmosphere and reflect back into space to cool the planet? Terms: Atmosphere, Troposphere, Stratosphere, Ozone Layer, Radiation

How do volcanoes affect the energy coming in from the atmosphere? Evidence 2.3 Justification How does the evidence justify the claim that the Earth's surface will become colder because of the lack of conduction and convections that occurs? Terms: Radiation, Conduction, Convection

Investigation Question: How do volcanoes affect the energy coming in from the atmosphere? Claim: When a volcano erupts it spews out tons of volcanic ash into the atmosphere that can block out the sun. Radiation from the sun will be absorbed by the atmosphere and reflect back into space to cool the planet. The Earth's surface will become colder because of the lack of conduction and convections that occurs. Justification: The claim is supported by evidence because… Evidence: Use the evidence presented (2.1 – 2.3) to justify the claim stated above.
