TESTS/MAJOR PROJECTS COMPONENT PERCENTAGE IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Tests and Major Projects 30% IMPORTANT INFORMATION: There will be at least three major tests/major projects each marking period Tests will be a mixture of multiple choice, matching, fill in the blanks, short answer and essay questions. Major projects will be given to complete during class time, therefore They are expected to be fully completed and on time.

PAPERS COMPONENT PERCENTAGE IMPORTANT INFORMATION 25% IMPORTANT INFORMATION Notice how paper grades are slightly less than test grades. You will have a multitude of papers throughout the course of the year Papers will range from in class to at home Each project should be taken seriously and completed on time for the best grades.

QUIZZES COMPONENT PERCENTAGE IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 20% IMPORTANT INFORMATION: There will be at least one quiz per week to adequately asses student productivity and comprehension. These quizzes can be announced or unannounced. Inorder to fully prepare for these quizzes, students are expected to Ask questions throughout lectures and/or class tutorials.

HOMEWORK COMPONENT PERCENTAGE IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 15% IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Homework will be administered every night in the form of blogging, reading, writing, reviewing class notes and/or research. All classroom lesson plans, homework and expectations will be found on my personal online classroom website. Students are expected to check the online classroom if they are not sure what is due

CLASSROOM PERFORMANCE COMPONENT PERCENTAGE Classroom Performance 10% IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The following areas factor into a performance grade: Attendance Punctuality Preparedness Involvement in Classroom Activities Oral Recitation- asking pertinent questions, voluntarily answering questions, presentations, and demonstrations.

Saving your Work Properly Each time your work is saved, you must save it in the following way to your folder: (failure to do so will result in points taken off ) Your first Initial Last intial_projecttitle Example: Let’s pretend that your name is Emma Smith and the project title is colors. ESmith_color (This is how you will save your work every time-notice no spaces.)

If you are absent… Frequent absences will affects a student’s academic progress You are responsible for making up your work and checking online to see what you missed. You should also contact your class buddy incase you need help understanding what is expected of you. Also, if you are out for more than three days, you are expected to schedule a meeting time with me to review all work and to receive a new deadline.

If you are absent… You have two weeks to make up any quizzes or tests. Failure to do so will automatically result in a ZERO. All make-up quizzes and tests will only be taken before or after school hours. For an absence that extends for more than three days, a date for all make-up work will be set and followed.

YO If you are absent… If you are absent and you make up your work, are responsible for showing it to me.

If you are absent… Remember that you are not just absent in my class, you are absent in all other classes too…it is very important to not fall behind so you must come back to school with the notion of catching up as soon as possible!

Classroom Rules You must be on time to class. If you come to class after the bell without a pass, you will receive a detention. No food or drink in the lab. Wear your uniform properly. First offense you are issued a warning. On the second offense, you will receive a detention.

Classroom Rules 4. No cell phones visible at anytime and electronic devices. According to the Student Handbook/Code of Conduct, all cell phones must be turned off during school hours. (7:40/bell-2:36/bell) A cell phone is considered in use if the student has the phone in their hand and will be confiscated on the spot. First offense, warning; student may retrieve the cell phone at the end of the day from the Dean of Students. Second offense, Parents must come to school for a conference with the Dean of Students before the cell phone is returned. Third offense, Cell phone is confiscated and returned to the parent at the end of the school year

Classroom Rules 6. Students are no longer allowed to print at school. 7. Do not touch other people’s work or change settings on any of the computers (technology code of conduct) 8. You are responsible to have a copy of your work saved on your flash drive at all times. 9. Respect the in-class books (Be gentle while handling them and do not write in them.) 10. Follow the correct fire drill procedure.

Classroom Rules Fire Drill during class: If by chance we have a fire drill while a class is in session, it is imperative that everyone remains silent. We will line up, single file and walk to our destination. Fire drills should not be taken lightly or looked to as a social event. If a fire occurred, we need to be prepared to listen for instructions. If everyone is speaking, we are risking the safety of the students and the faculty.

Classroom Rules For those students that fail to adhere to any of these rules, a detention will be given. Detention served one day AFTER it is given. If you receive a detention, you are responsible for remembering.

Technology code of Conduct “Any misuse of technology will result in a loss of computer privileges for a minimum of one marking period. Based on the nature and severity of the violation, appropriate disciplinary action will follow that may include Administrative Detentions, In-School Suspension, or Out –of- School Suspension and possible loss of technology school use for the entire school year.” If information is delete accidentally, you must report is as soon as possible because we might possibly be able to recover it given the right amount of window time.”
