Moulin Rouge and A desperate deed.

Example Conveys the obsession that Christian has towards Satine and love. The dance displays the story of Christian and Satine and what happens as they stay together, the body language between the two dancers displays the rough dance. The use of low key lighting displaying that their love is at stage that it could fall apart at any moment. The use of these distinctively visual techniques is to convey the emotions that they go through

Example This image form the film ‘Moulin Rouge’ conveys the theme love between the two main protagonist Satine and Christian. The use of the heart in the background symbolises the theme love, it also being displayed by the two main protagonists in the middle showing their love for one another. The high key lighting reveals to the audience the type of mood they are displaying also which also highlights the theme love with the colour red, which is associated with love and desire. The use of distinctively visual images is for the purpose of the reoccurring theme which is demonstrated not only by the two main protagonist, but also the other characters in the film.

The use of the song "sparkling diamond" is to relay that Satine’s and wants by being materialistic, the use of costuming also displays her needs and wants by wearing a shiny, sparkling dress whilst singing "sparkling diamond" which makes her stand out. The long shot gives the whereabouts of the two and the closed framing of the two make it seem the two are in a fantasy world, the use of fill light makes the scene seem more artificial.
