Evolution Story Checklist (37 pts) Booklet Requirements: Points: Use evolution vocabulary words (minimum of 4) in your story 4 pts 1 colored paper for outside cover and 3 white sheets for story. Fold in half and staple along fold. Decorate your cover page (colored). Include the title of your story and your name on front cover. 3 pts First white page (page 1) – title page includes Title, Name and Period. 2 pts Pages 2 – 3 include a picture of the whole population (p.2) and the beginning of the story (p.3) Name of species 5 unique traits Where species lives What species eats Picture 3 pts Story Pages 4-5: your population of creatures is separated into 2 groups through an isolating mechanism. Write about what happens to the population (p.4) and draw a picture of the isolation event (p.5) Examples of isolating event – flood, volcanic eruption, earthquake, etc. Picture Pages 6-7: Your 2 isolated populations will each develop adaptations to their new environments. Write about how they adapt to the new environment (p.6) Drawing should include 2 environments, 2 creatures with new adaptations (p7). Pages 8-9: complete your story (p.8) the 2 populations can no longer breed with one another. Describe how 2 species are different. Draw pictures of your 2 species with their different adaptations (p.9)
