Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship “Seminary for a Day” Registration at First Unitarian Portland Opens January 28 Are you yearning for greater depth in your spiritual life? Then join us for a day-long learning experience here at First Unitarian Portland on Saturday, Jan. 28: Seminary for a Day. Our keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Kendyl Gibbons, recipient of the 2015 Religious Humanist of the Year Award, and senior minister at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Kansas City. She is a recognized leader in our continental Association, and past president of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association. Afternoon workshops lead by Unitarian Universalist teachers cover topics ranging from “Ethics Without God” to “A Thousand Ways to Pray” … and many more! Rev. Gibbons’ key note address is "On Becoming a Grown-Up: Spiritual Maturity With and Without God." If Humanism is a religious option worthy to stand with the other great faiths of the world, it too must have the capacity to call its adherents to a stance of engaged insight, appreciation, and modesty that will find resonance with others on the path toward spiritual maturity in their own traditions. What are some of these qualities, how can we discern their presence, and how might we develop them intentionally in the course of our individual and collective journeys? For full information and an on-line registration form: www.tinyurl.com/SFAD-2017 Announcements due by Tuesday 10 AM. Send to: newsletter@olympicuuf.org
