Student projects Classes in Global Responsibility & Community Service during the school day. Planning and implementation of social service projects. In accordance with the Millennium Development Goals Opportunity to contribute to the local community. Enhancing cognitive and expressive abilities in a creative fashion.
Project evaluation Periodic, Creative Evaluation & Self-Evaluation, on the following aspects: Increased awareness of own strengths and areas for growth. Undertaken new challenges. Planned and initiated activities. Worked collaboratively with others. Shown perseverance and commitment in their activities. Engaged with issues of global importance. Considered the ethical implications of their actions Developed new skills.
Project Evaluation The student will have help from the program coordinator in project planning and implementation. Sessions will include choosing a topic, projection consultation, evaluation, and reflection. Aim: Holistic Education
Example Development Goal: Ensure Environmental Sustainability. Student analyzes community and finds that the lake is a fundamental, environmental feature in the Lake Chapala area. However, the lake is very dirty and contaminated. Student: seeks pro-lake associations in the area in order to get involved, proposes ideas or activities for the lake, and decides to contact primary schools to organize cleanup crews.
example Through contact with lake cleanup associations, student becomes a community organizer for this topic. Student holds a meeting of associations to establish ties and promote partnerships. Meanwhile, the lake can also be recognized as a tourist destination. Student informs media of the “Mexican Assembly of Pro-Lake Associations”.
example This is the basis of student project planning. In the process, they will evaluate their performance in creative ways, for which, such as a "blog" which will make personal reflections on each activity completed, uploading images to share with the group, with advisor supervision.
