Discretionary Management Service – April 2017 Portfolio Performance Your financial affairs in a safe pair of hands The Offering The NLPFM Discretionary Management Service offers a number of different portfolios to clients. The needs of each client are considered independently and different portfolios are selected based on suitability and approach to risk after a discussion directly with the client. The philosophy of NLPFM is that irrespective of which standard portfolio or specially tailored portfolio is used, clients can be assured that their money is looked after with their interests at heart. The Month in Review April was another positive month for risk assets although a strong rally in Sterling meant that once converted most major markets were in negative territory for the month. Europe was the only market to end the month up in Sterling terms with the first round of the French election suggesting a Macron victory is likely. Bond indices fared slightly better with only global bonds being impacted by the Sterling rebound. Property once again delivered a small positive return to our portfolios whilst our combined Alternative holdings were a slight negative. The MSCI UK Index ended the month down -1.34% whilst the AFI Index was up 0.04%. All of our portfolios performed in-line with expectations and we continue to deliver superior risk adjusted returns.
