OUR TRIP TO GERMANY By Aisling & Evan
Transportation We used lots of modes of transport, some we’ve never been on like the U-Bahn. We travelled on : The airplane The bus Cars Trains The S-Bahn The U-Bahn
Berlin We had the opportunity to travel around Berlin and see the city. We visited the museum island and the Berliner Dom. We visited Berliner Weihnachtsmarkt and experienced some traditional German Culture.
Berlin Wall We also had the opportunity to see the Berlin Wall. We got to see the various parts of the wall and all the art work covering the wall.
Meeting the Other Students First we met the Swedish students at the Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt) Then we travelled on the U-Bahn to meet the Italian students at The Sony Centre. We then had dinner with them in a nearby restaurant.
Meeting The German Students The German students were very welcoming when we arrived in Gustrow. They were also kind enough to make food for us when we arrived.
German Food We ate some traditional German foods such as : Bratwurst Frankfurter Würstchen Frikadeller Schnitzel
German Class We received a German lesson and we learned how to say different things. We played games at the end of the lesson to see if we knew the things we had learned.
German Dinner We received a delicious German dinner cooked by the students in the school.
Irish Dancing Aisling had the opportunity to show everyone some traditional Irish dancing. She also showed everyone how to do the walls of Limerick a traditional Irish Ceili dance.
Day Trip to Rostock We visited the Darwinian Museum. We got a guided tour around Rostock. We also visited the Weihnachtsmarkt in Rostock.
Christmas Concert We were delighted we could attend the Christmas concert in the school and hear the amazing school choir sing many amazing songs. All the other countries also joined in by singing a verse of silent night in their own language.
Going Home It was sad leaving Germany and all the other students as we knew we would miss them so much much, but we had an amazing time and it was a once in a lifetime experience.
