What’s up with goal setting? Why do we need to set goals for our community foundation? What kinds of goals do we need? How to set goals to grow your community foundation.

Everything I need to know about planning, I learned from Noah’s Ark - Don’t miss the boat. Remember we all are in the same boat. Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark. Stay fit. When you are really old, someone may ask you to do something important. Don’t listen to the critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

Everything I need to know about planning, I learned from Noah’s Ark - Helps you make your ideas and dreams reality. For safety sake, travel in pairs. Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. When you are stressed, float for a while. Remember the Ark was built by amateurs – the Titanic by professionals. No matter the storm – there is always a rainbow!

Put it in writing - what gets measured gets done! A tool for progress. Makes us aware of our successes. Helps us recognize our weaknesses - and our strengths. Provides information for future planning. Assists with our direction, our needs, our future. Goal + action = Success!

5 Golden Rules of Goal Setting Make an action plan. Be inclusive. Steps to make it happen. Makes it doable – not so overwhelming. Divides up responsibility.

5 Golden Rules of Goal Setting 5. Stick with it! Timeline. Review regularly. Be flexible – may need to adapt.

Your Community Foundation Charge: Write a plan for the next 3 years to grow your Community Foundation - Make it: Fit your community foundation. Mesh with your community needs. Relevant. Simple. Attainable. Write it down - review it at each board meeting.
