Searching a Database (and some cool library resources)

AE: just thought it’d be useful to the students to see how to get to the next slide : Database Options

Over 275 databases available to EWU users!! Database Options Sorted A-Z Sorted by Subject Over 275 databases available to EWU users!! Databases are licensed and paid for by EWU Libraries for the benefit of EWU students and faculty. Look for our most popular databases like Proquest Central, EBSCO’s Academic Search Complete, or the JSTOR platform to get started on your search! Or take a look at EWU Libraries Research Guides and Databases A-Z list to find subject-specific databases.

PQ Central or EBSCO ASC ?? Two great places to start to find scholarly and academic articles on a variety of subjects and topics – for research papers, annotated bibliography assignments, and more!

Kanopy Kanopy is a video streaming service licensed by EWU Libraries for EWU students, faculty, and staff at no additional cost to users! The films are mostly documentaries, independent films, and popular world cinema. An app is available for viewing from devices.

BrowZine BrowZine is an online database with many scholarly and academic journals. Content includes many different subjects, and access to previous editions through an archive. Users can create their own bookshelf in BrowZine to follow titles and receive updates when new content is published!

Mango Languages Mango is an easy to use language learning website (and app!) with access to self-paced learning modules for 70+ languages! The learning process is easy to understand and focuses on “vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture” to enrich your learning.

Flipster Flipster is a cool site with access to many popular magazines. Access to the most current issue or an archive of previous publications. Popular publications include Vogue, Time, Rolling Stone, Popular Science, The New Yorker, and others. Over 70 magazines are available through the EWU collection!
