Mind Maps Advantages

With mind maps you can: Generate ideas quickly Segregate ideas (plan structure/order) Get an overview of your essay Clarify your thoughts Make links and see relationships between arguments Can expand ideas out (branch out) Start again easily Make mistakes early on which are easily fixed Build confidence in yourself Create many options (of which you can choose the best points) Prevent repetition

Time to spend on a mind map It is recommended you always spend a certain amount of time on a mind map. In a 2 hour essay about 15 minutes should be spent on a mind map If the essay is shorter (for example in a TOEIC exam, 20-30minutes), then spend 3-5 minutes mind mapping. It will really help you.
