WiTricity Leverages Magnetic Resonance for Flexible Wireless Charging Developed a wireless charging system that allows power transmission with low losses to charge devices such as cars, medical implants, and consumer electronics. Using COMSOL, analyzed the thermal and electromagnetic performance of the wireless transfer system, validated and optimized designs for different uses, and confirmed compliance to safety guidelines. IEEE Spectrum Insert 2015: Andre Kurs, WiTricity, MA, USA COMSOL simulation results showing the power dissipated in a source resonator for consumer electronics applications. Simulation showing the specific absorption rate (SAR), a measurement of electromagnetic energy absorbed and turned into heat, in a hand above a charging cell phone.
