November 2-3: “The Lottery” Reading Qs IN p. 41 Text p. 25 Answer the following questions while we read: What can you infer about the village and its people? Describe Mr. Summers based on his responsibilities and the way others react to him. What might a “perfunctory chant” suggest about past lotteries? How does Old Man Warner feel about the lottery? Describe Mrs.Hutchison’s behavior and reaction from the other villagers? What expectation did you have about the lottery at the beginning of the story? How did that expectation change?

November 4-5: “The Lottery” Analyze the Text IN p. 42-43 Text p. 36 Answer Qs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 Please restate the question in the form of an answer and use textual evidence to support them.
