Compare and Contrast Your aim is to identify similar themes and ideas in two sources and also to identify differences between them The key to this activity is linkage- discuss the sources TOGETHER throughout a response You must find BOTH similarities and differences- the best way to do this is to present two paragraphs- one for comparisons and one for contrasts

How to Approach: Compare and Contrast Use two different highlighters or pens- highlight similarities in one colour and contrasts in another Find the more obvious comparisons and differences- then go on to more specific ones Similarities are your first paragraph- Differences the second See handout
