How else can development be measured?

Starter - In pairs decide if these countries are rich or poor ? Brazil Iceland USA Ghana Venezuela Australia France Chile Turkey China Can you also name which continent they are in?

Task Using the information sheets you have been provided with you need to rank the countries from 1 to 5 In some cases it is the highest number which gets a 1 e.g. GNP (wealth) In some cases it is the lowest number which gets a 1 e.g. birth rate Total up the rankings and the country with the lowest total is the most developed and the country with the highest total is the least developed

Draw three different charts to show some of this information e. g Draw three different charts to show some of this information e.g. bar chart to show birth rate, pie chart to show GNP and a scattergraph to show infant mortality against people per doctor (use the actual figures and not your rankings) Remember they need a suitable title and both axes labelling where appropriate
