VENUS by Caitlin C.

Introduction Venus is many things, like a brand of beauty products, a song, a goddess, and a planet. I am going to tell you about the planet. I’ll tell you that Venus is a very cool but hot planet.

Surface and Air Venus is one inner planets, which contain, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. So, that means Venus is inside the asteroid belt and has a solid surface which is very hot and has many volcanoes and mountains. Venus’s atmosphere is poisonous to human beings and is very big and strong.

Temperature and Size The temperature range on Venus is 850-900 degrees fahrenheit. You would melt to death in 2 seconds. I would not want to live there! Venus has a diameter of 7,523 miles and it has a circumference of 23,628. It is almost the exact size of Earth!

Planet Green House The atmosphere on Venus is strongly poisonous to humans and any other life.Venus is also has something, what some people call the Greenhouse Effect. It is called this because its atmosphere sucks in the heat and doesn’t let it back out again, just like a greenhouse.

Distance and Day Venus is about 25 million miles away from Earth and 67 million miles away from the Sun. Those far planets must be really far! Venus also has a day with the time of 243 Earth days which means it spins around 243 in one day!

Year and Origin The years on Venus are 225 Earth days that are spent with no one because no one can life there. Venus has a very cool but hot meaning. Venus is the Roman Goddess of love and beauty. The romans named the planet afler the goddess because of her beauty compared to the planet’s light.

Venus, Like Earth Venus is a planet just like Earth. Although Venus is a deathly planet, scientists say that Venus could have once been like Earth, had water and growing trees. But unfortunately since Venus is so close to the sun, it kind burned and hardened like a cookie in the oven.
