Globalization

What is globalization? Turn to a partner and discuss this….

What are some pros and cons of Globalization? Try to come up with 2 of each at your table. Make sure to write them down as we will be sharing them aloud.

What supporters say…. countries like China, India, Uganda and Vietnam that have opened up to the world economy have significantly reduced poverty.

What the critics say…. Critics argue that the process has exploited people in developing countries, caused massive disruptions and produced few benefits.

Divide your ISN into parts I will hand out the pros and cons sheet. In your ISN, make your own pros and cons section to show your own points of view as you research. You must do a “right brain” activity on what globalization looks like. What does this word mean to you?

Begin research You will have time on 8/22 & 8/23 to work in the computer lab. If you do not finish, it will be homework. The debate begins Monday 8/26
