What Is Cause And Effect? There is a reason for everything that happens? What happens is called the effect Why it happened is called the cause

Cause And Effect Why something happens is the cause What happens because of the cause is the effect Clue Words to Look For: so, so that, since, because, therefore, and reason often signal cause and effect Other Clue Words: as a result, if…then, and in order to.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN THERE ARE NO CLUE WORDS? When there are no clue words, look for cause and effect by thinking about what happened and why or how it happened
