In the balkan town Kalofer on 25 December 1847 was born the first son of Botyo Petkov and Ivanka Petkova – Hristo Botev.
Botyo Petkov Botyo Petkov, called teacher Botyo, is a Bulgarian teacher, Ivanka Petkova’s husband and father of the revolutionar Hristo Botev and 8 children. They lived in Kalofer.

Hristo Botev studied under his father comands Hristo Botev studied under his father comands. He listened to his mother’s songs. Hristo Botev read Bulgarian and Russian books. He finished school in 1863 in Kalofer.

In July 1875, Botev married Veneta Vezireva and on 13 April was born their daughter – Ivanka.
