External structures Age Gender When determining the age we use a ruler Our barrow(male) was 31 ½ cm which is ready to be born When determining the gender we need to check to see if there is a flap like thing next to the anus

Umbilical Cord Anus The umbilical cord brings blood and nutrients to the fetal pig from the placenta. Also it takes wastes like carbon dioxide. Carries waste out of the body

Hard and soft pallet Teeth it is to help digestion of food because a pig does not have many or has a flexible tongue like other animals. Help break down the food for digestion

Taste buds Taste the food (even though they eat everything ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODbimMl8It8 Taste the food (even though they eat everything )

Internal Structures Liver Gall bladder Secretes a bodily liquid known as bile and filters out waste or poison Stores acid to break down digestion

Small Intestine Large Intestine The major function is absorbing water and remove solid waste from the body Were chemical digestion accurs

Stomach Rugae(inside stomach) Mainly to digest food and store it muscular sack https://www.youtube.com/watch ?v=HbaIfdEAkII Allows the stomach and other tissue to expand as needed to help in the digestion of food.

Diaphragm Spleen Drain out damaged blood cells The main muscle that helps the respiration and breathing and allows the lungs to inflate

Heart Lungs To pump blood throughout the body to help circulatory system to keep the body going the lungs bring oxygen to the bloodstream to the tiny sacs in the lungs. When oxygen enters the blood, (hemoglobin )picks it up and transport it throughout the body.

Trachea Esophagus The trachea delivers air from the lungs to the lungs to the mouth Transfers food to from the mouth to the stomach Jaiden every day until he doesn’t get his way

Kidneys Pancreas They take a way waste from the blood streams Releases insulin to lower blood sugar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlVoSVnPMSI

Thyroid Gland Helps the consistency of homeostasis
