Bringing things into perspective…

What you will need: ½ sheet of white construction paper Pencil Red solo cup (1/2 filled with water) Paint brush & water colors (both should be together in the container) Small Styrofoam plate 1 foot of paper towels

Before you start… On a sheet of paper (your own), please write down your expectations for this assignment. Don’t try and “remember” it because that normally doesn’t work. There will also be a written component to this assignment (as always) and if you don’t FULLY explain yourself or use the correct vocabulary, you won’t receive full credit.

What you will be doing: Today, you will literally be creating a painting that demonstrates: Both types of Perspectives (Aerial/1-2 Point Perspective) Northern Renaissance Characteristics (real-life scenes/setting/scenarios; TONS of symbolism; shown as real as possible) Consistent Chiaroscuro (obvious source of light)

Written Component In a couple well organized paragraphs, describe your painting using the Elements and Principles of Art (they will NEVER go away). Also, describe how you demonstrated the characteristics in the previous slide (SPECIFICALLY…CORRECT VOCAB USED AS WELL).
