We are learning to write a scary story.

Which of these starters are scary? It was late at night and the sky was dark. Owls hooted. On a bright summer's day, two girls skipped along the road, laughing. The wind howled and the trees creaked. A moaning noise rose out of the forest. The old man was sleeping. Suddenly he heard a tap, tap, tapping noise on the window. Starter: Use worksheet - cut up story starters and sort into scary/not scary.
