Example Andrew wants to work out, correct to one decimal place a solution to the equation 2 𝑥 2 =7 He tries by guessing the value of 𝑥 and starts with 𝑥=1.4. When 𝑥=1.4 he gets the result 3.92 He then tries 𝑥=1.9 and get the result 7.22 By using trial and improvement find the correct solution to one decimal place.

x = 1.3 to 1 decimal place Example Barry is trying to solve the equation 𝑥 2 +𝑥=3 by trial and improvement.
