EPHESIANS 6:14-15 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

Introduction GOOD Evening. We thank God… Please repeat after me: “Fulfil ye my joy - that ye be likeminded - having the same love - being of one accord - of one mind” (Philippians 2:2). We are thankful for the men who have gone before us thus far…

Introduction We are thankful for this congregation… VISITORS: you are our welcomed and honored guest. We are humbled and excited to again be blessed to preach the Gospel of God’s grace.

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 4 (The Gospel) “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace” (Ephesians 6:15). Christians have entered a battleground and NOT a playground (Ephesians 6:12).

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 4 (The Gospel) Last week we looked at the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14).

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 4 (The Gospel) The child of God is to have his or her feet shod “with the preparation of the Gospel of peace” (Ephesians 6:15).

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 4 (The Gospel) The Gospel must be carried into “all the world” by “earthen vessels” – New Testament Christians (Mark 16:15-16; 2 Cor. 4:1-7). Many assume the Gospel is just for non- Christians (Galatians 1:6-9).

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 4 (The Gospel) Our problems come because we tend to lose and forget the gospel (Psalm 119:11). Flaws in our character result when we try to direct our own steps and be our own saviour through our performance and achievements (Jeremiah 10:23).

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 4 (The Gospel) The gospel is not just the “ABCs” but the “A- to-Z” of the Christian life (Romans 12:1-2). Positively, the gospel transforms our hearts, our thinking, and our approach to absolutely everything (Ephesians 1:6).

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD - 4 (The Gospel) This understanding creates a radical new dynamic for personal growth. This understanding also creates a radical new dynamic for discipline and obedience. The gospel becomes a thing of beauty instead of a burden (Hebrews 12:2).

THE GOSPEL OF PEACE The “peace” Paul wants us to experience comes from our obedience to the Gospel, “the obedience of faith” (Romans 1:5-7; 16:26). Peter wrote about our “obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ” which multiplies grace and peace (1 Peter 1:2).

THE GOSPEL OF PEACE “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace” (Psalm 29:11). Peace for the people of old was conditional (Exodus 18:23; Deut. 28:58-68; Rom. 15:4).

THE GOSPEL OF PEACE Jesus our Saviour came to “guide our feet into the way of (spiritual) peace” and reconciliation to God (Luke 1:76-79; 2 Corinthians 5:17-19).

THE GOSPEL OF PEACE Christians have been blessed with “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding” (Philippians 4:7).

THE GOSPEL OF PEACE “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it” (1 Peter 3:10-11).

THE GOSPEL OF PEACE Our confidence must be in God and His “Good News,” and not in our thoughts and desires (Matthew 7:21). The Gospel “is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).

THE GOSPEL OF PEACE “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
