Expressive Mugs The Pinch Pot Process

Project Guidelines For this project you will be making Pinch Pot Mugs. These Mugs will include: A Handle A Foot An additional attachment Texture

Project Guidelines Continued Choose your favorite song Create a mug that embodies your song choice or the mood of the song Use the instrumental music and the lyrics as reference for the mood or message of the song You may choose the song BUT it has to be school appropriate You may choose to represent the mood or theme through a facial expression or through textural design elements or both!

Mitchel Grafton Uses different facial expressions to create clay vessels that convey emotions. Like cartoon/characture artists he exaggerates facial features and textures to make those expressions obvious for viewers.

Grace Sheese Each of her pieces tells a story. The story unfolds across the inside, outside, and even the underside of each piece. This invites you to interact with the story. Makes her work for every day use.

What is the mood or theme? What is the mood of this song? What does the music sound like? What are the lyrics saying? LISTEN CAREFULLY!
