The Qualification BSc (Hons) Podiatry Eligibility to apply for registration with the Health Professions Council and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists

Course Structure Highly integrated and focused course Course completed over 3 years Each year has two teaching blocks, both lasting 16 weeks The course will be delivered using both practical and theoretical elements Shared learning with other Allied Health professionals. Multi- professional groups come together to problem solve throughout the course

Practice/Clinical Placement Clinic experience is gained at the University training clinic as well as in placement settings Placements take place throughout the South West, therefore you will be required to travel to and from placements Students must complete a minimum of 1000 hours of assessed clinical practice Clinical placements are organised into 5 blocks of varying length throughout the 3 years DoH bursaries include travel and accommodation for placements

Podiatry Clinic £14million Local Care Centre, Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth

Podiatry Clinic Took its first patients in October It is a cutting edge multi-disciplinary centre from which a number of health services are available, including a 14 bed Podiatry facility, a lab and plaster room and gait room. The facility allows students to gain valuable experience within an NHS environment, practicing skills and developing Podiatrist-patient relationships and applying their knowledge with the support of both NHS and academic staff. Experiences and skills gained enable students to act with confidence during the practice elements of the course and will prove invaluable when graduating and starting their career as a registered Podiatrist.
