The eukaryotic cytoplasm has a set of long, thin fibers called the cytoskeleton, which plays three important roles in cellular structure and function:

Cytoskeleton/Centrioles Division 7 Members: James, Danielle, Ellie, MarieAnna, Jackie EGG WHITES Warning: EAT HEALTHY

Internal Skeleton- Support and Motility Internal Skeleton= Cytoskeleton This is the support of the cell. It will provide the shape and mechanical resistance. This is made of Filaments of Tubules The cell walls actively contract to make the cell move forwards. Cellular signaling is also created by the cytoskeleton this can help in separating the chromosomes during cellular division.

Microfilaments Partner of Microtubules Are long, thin, and made of two intertwined proteins called actin Are designed to bear large amounts of tension Allows the cell to hold its shape, move itself, and move its organelles

Intermediate Filaments Part of the cytoskeleton of all animals Function in the maintenance of cell-shape Organize the internal structure of cell Without them tissues would fall apart Average 10nm in length, stable and strongly bound

Centrioles Assist in cell division of animal cells This <<<< Assist in cell division of animal cells Makes mitosis more efficient Cannot be seen when dividing Two of them Make a right angle (centrosomes) Not this >> Churros not Centrioles
