Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Have you ever found they faked on measuring contact angle Which calculated result from drop profile fitting of the following 4 images do you think is the most reliable data for the analytical ? The green curve in the image is the fitted curve by the Young-Laplace equation, the black part is the shape of the droplet, the red line is the edge points found by the software, and the horizontal line is the baseline; By zooming in on the Base line at the image, it can be easy found out that the green fitting curve does not substantially coincide with the droplet contour (black part). It is easy to judge if the calculated value of contact angle deviates from the actual value by the coincidence of the fitting curve and droplet edge. Moreover, since the fitted curve shrinks within the true edge of the droplet in this image, it can be judged that the calculated angle value is larger than the true value. Image 2 85

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Have you ever found they faked on measuring contact angle Which calculated result from drop profile fitting of the following 4 images do you think is the most reliable data for the analytical ? The blue curve in the image is the fitted curve by the Young-Laplace equation, the black part is the shape of the droplet, the red line is the edge points found by the software, and the horizontal line is the baseline; By zooming in on the Base line at the image, it can be easy found out that the blue fitting curve does not substantially coincide with the droplet contour (black part). It is easy to judge if the calculated value of contact angle deviates from the actual value by the coincidence of the fitting curve and droplet edge. Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Have you ever found they faked on measuring contact angle Which calculated result from drop profile fitting of the following 4 images do you think is the most reliable data for the analytical ? The blue curve in the image is the fitted curve by the Young-Laplace equation, the black part is the shape of the droplet, the red line is the edge points found by the software, and the horizontal line is the baseline; As can be seen by enlarging the picture, the light blue fitted curve is significantly thicker relative to the base line. After analysis using Photoshop, the baseline is 1 pixel and the fitted curve line is 3 pixels. From the fitting effect, only the part of the fitted curve above the baseline portion does not coincide with the red droplet edge line. Parts of the red line is exposed outside the blue fitting curve line. The effect of this analysis image is acceptable only in terms of the coincidence of the fitted curve line to the contour of the droplet (black portion) or the contour of the red found droplet edge. Is this really the case? Image 1 85

The Advanced version of the software is fake on the algorithm! Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Have you ever found they faked on measuring contact angle Which calculated result from drop profile fitting of the following 4 images do you think is the most reliable data for the analytical ? Image 2 Image 1 In fact, Image 2 is a result from the software DSA3 the lower version of the analysis algorithm, and Image 1 is an analysis result of the software Advance the higher version. And changing of the software Advance is just the thickness of the fitting curve. Analyzed by the Photoshop that the portion where the fitted curve and the contour of the droplet do not coincide in image 2 is about 4-5 pixels. In image 1, in the Advance version of the software, by thickening the fitted curve, the black droplets that were not coincident or unmasked were partially obscured by an additional 2 pixels. The final values of the contact angle values of image 1 and 2 are 130.5 degrees and 130.9 degrees, respectively. They are almost same. This is the truth! The Advanced version of the software is fake on the algorithm! 85

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Have you ever found they faked on measuring contact angle Which calculated result from drop profile fitting of the following 4 images do you think is the most reliable data for the analytical ? The green curve in the image is the fitted curve by the ADSA-RealDrop, the black part is the shape of the droplet, the yellow line is the edge points found by the software, and the red horizontal line is the baseline; From the enlarged view, the yellow line and the green line have a higher degree of coincidence; the green line and the black droplet have a higher degree of coincidence. Under the premise of the coincidence of the fit, the credibility of the measured results is relatively higher. The final contact angle test values were 123.455 (left contact angle) and 124.394 (right contact angle). Image 4 85

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Have you ever found they faked on measuring contact angle Image1 Image2 Have you ever used a software cheating you? - What algorithm do they use? - Has the fitting curve fit the drop edge? - The thickness of the fitting curve? You need to ask them for the reference article! Never to be Too much to believe them, never pay attention to the fit effect and algorithm problems 85

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? View Angle of your contact angle meter and levelness of your sample surface Do you often get the contact angle test picture without the contact points on both sides as shown below? Since the sample stage secondary adjustment level function is not used, the contact angle meter must first adjust the level of the whole machine with 4 adjustable legs and then adjusting the levelness of the camera to match the level. But the most sad thing is that the machine only has tilted angle for view angle of lens and camera, it cannot provide the function of levelness by multi-tilted positioning stage. Then, do you think the contact angle value from such images is correct? Where should the base line put right to ? And more, when the sample stage is not horizontal, the left and right contact angles will be inconsistent. How to correct it?

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? View Angle of your contact angle meter and levelness of your sample surface Which image shows the best view angle? We think almost 60% of users have the first one, and 35% of users have the third one. And only 5% whose machine has multi-tilted sample stage have the second one? × H1 W √ H1 W × H1 W

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? What you need is a Color Camera! Do you still use a mono camera? Have you ever consider the accuracy of the edge finding of mono camera? Blue Not Blue 50% Grey 98% Grey 80% Grey 0% Grey

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? The Z axis of sample stage controlled by pinion and rack and without a multi-tilted sample stage! Do you need a contact angle meter that uses a rack and pinion as the drive. Especially when moving in the Z axis direction, it will automatically move down after a period of use, and cannot withstand heavy objects. And more, it has no multi tilted stage. Is this what you need? Multi-tilted sample stage controlled by micrometer pinion and rack

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Have you ever pay attention to the screw pitch of the control stage of positioning! Do you need a machine using large screw pitch for positioning? Actually, accuracy depends on the screw pitch. And only 1mm or 0.5mm screw pitch is acceptable for getting a accuracy of 0.01mm. 1 mm screw pitch Used in dosing system of Chinese machine 1.5 mm screw pitch Used in dosing system of Germany machine 0.5 mm screw pitch Used in dosing system of KINO’s machine 2mm screw pitch Used in positioning of needle of Germany machine

Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? Do you still use a 2D standard contact angle plate for contact angle meter with 3D state! Accuracy is the life of the instrument. But you don't have a suitable verification tool, you can't know the performance and precision of the instrument you bought! √ ×

and no professional technology, Technology deconstruction for optical contact angle meter — Do you need a contact angle meter as this? The above questions only cover a small part of designing, making, choosing and using the contact angle meter! If you still insist on the development and making of contact angle meter is very simple and no professional technology, and the you still cannot distinguish commercial instruments from each other, Do you still take a photo of droplet by a cellphone and measure the value of contact angle of image in the cellphone screen using a protractor.
