Presentation transcript:

Contact Lens Contact lenses are mainly used for correcting eyesight by attaching to cornea, helping to treat eyes, and for beauty purposes. Property Price Transparent Oxygen Permeability Hydrophilic Refractive Power

PMMA(polymethyl methacrylate) Lens Glass Lens It has been used in contact lenses at the initial stage, and it is very irritating and difficult to manage. PMMA(polymethyl methacrylate) Lens PMMA has the advantages of excellent transparency, but it is hard and has poor hydrophilic property because it is not wetted by tears and low permeability of oxygen. Hydrogel Lens Hydrogel lenses have higher oxygen permeability and higher flexibility than PMMA lenses, making them easier to wear. It is widely used today.

RGP Lens (Rigid Gas Permeable Lens) The current term hard lens refers mainly to this RGP lens. The lens surface is relatively rigid, and the effect of correcting the refractive power of the corneal surface is great. It has superior oxygen permeability than hydrogel lens. Silicone Hydrogel Hydrogel lenses are disadvantageous in that they are less oxygen permeable than RGP lenses and do not provide enough oxygen permeability to fit physiologically at night. Silicone hydrogel lenses improve the oxygen permeability, It is widely used for interchangeable lenses.
