TEMPTATION An enticement to embrace self-interest

Why are powerful people so inclined to go off the rails? Morally ♦ Ethically ♦ Financially

Power is not primarily for the benefit of the powerful.

Wealth is not primarily for the benefit of the wealthy.

Influence is not primarily for the benefit of the influential.

“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;” Matthew 4:8

A Kingdom like no other

A Kingdom where the King lays down His life for His subjects

“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10

“Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.” Matthew 4:11

“And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.” Luke 4:13

“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

Since Jesus came “to give his life a ransom for many...,” He came to give His life a ransom for you.
