This artist is best known for large scale Whaling walls, one hundred of them around the world. An estimated one billion people view his work each year. What are your impressions of this work?

Shay Church Is currently an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He received his Master’s of Fine Arts in 2007 from San Jose State University in San Jose California. His work focuses on ceramics and sculpture. His Whales are unfired clay structures built on wooden armatures. As the clay begins to dry it cracks and can flake creating a work that evolves and changes.
