Presentation transcript:

Summing up At INCOSAI the SAI of Japan was appointed new Goal Liaison of the PSC, and our colleague from Japan attended his very first PSC SC meeting in Bahrain in May this year. I am afraid that Mr Azumo was a great deal more confused when he left the meeting than when he came, since he dropped right into the discussion of possible set-ups for INTOSAI’s future standard-setting. I hope that at least some ofl the pieces of the puzzle have come together for him after he has read the evaluation report and recommendations – which I will return to shortly. After having informed you that the ISSAIs you see here are currently being reviewed by different working groups. Poland has led an initial assessment of the need to revise ISSAI 30 and at the PSC SC meeting in May it was decided that this ISSAI was in need of a revision. Poland has subsequently put together a review team including representatives of all the INTOSAI regions and the team will have its first meeting in Warsaw on 13 and 14 October. I believe that Poland has liaised closely with the EUROSAI Task Force on Audit & Ethics and will draw on the experience gained by that group. The other ISSAIs are being reviewed by working groups under the auspices of the Knowledge Sharing Committee and the latter by a Subcommittee 3 under the Capacity Building Committee. Furthermore the Performance Audit Subcommittee and the Compliance Audit Subcommittee under PSC are currently in the process of determining what consequential changes are necessary in the ISSAI 3000 and 4000 series following the approval of the new ISSAI 100-400. I trust that Christina and Norbert will elaborate on this issue.

Decisions made… Draft ISSAI 30 to be approved for exposure in written procedure. Project proposal to remove the ISAs from the ISSAIs approved. Draft ISSAIs 3000, 3100 and 3200 approved for exposure, with comments. Draft ISSAI 4000 approved for exposure, with comments. Due Process – first draft version of revised document approved. Strategic objectives – PSC Secretariat will formulate new draft within the following areas: Goal 1 organisational setup, use of ISSAIs by SAIs, link between standard-setting and implementation/capacity development activities and external recognition of ISSAIs. At INCOSAI the SAI of Japan was appointed new Goal Liaison of the PSC, and our colleague from Japan attended his very first PSC SC meeting in Bahrain in May this year.
