Are there penalties for copyright infringement? YES! The penalties can civil or criminal Including Jail Time

What if I want to use some quotes in my lessons? Using someones text is not a crime with the use of quotations or a bibliographic citation

Videos Videos can be used in the classroom for a certain amount of time. the source of the video can be sited during the credits

As Teachers… As teachers we must demonstrate for our students how to properly use someone else's work in a legal way We can’t expect our students not to copy from one another or play parts in plagiarism, if we cant follow certain rules of copyright laws
