Clinton’s Economic Ideas Clinton’s Presidency Economy stopped growing and unemployment grew by 1992 In 1992, Bill Clinton became President Clinton’s Economic Ideas Use social programs to help people He asked for small increases of spending Clinton’s ideas helped the Economy World Events Clinton helped end conflicts in places like Norther Ireland and the Middle East He sent soldiers to help the fighting in the Balkan Region Clinton Impeached HoR voted to impeach Clinton b/c they thought he lied A senate trial found him not guilty

A Changing Economy New Technology Changes in Jobs The 1990’s had the longest period of economic growth People had more money to save, spend, or invest People like Bill Gates and Marc Andreesen made computers and the internet which helped boost the economy New Technology Personal computers allowed people to use the internet to shop, email others, and get information High Tech businesses developed new technology, like cell phones Computer technology helped other businesses to be more productive. Changes in Jobs The amount of people working in service jobs increased The amount of people working in manufacturing jobs decreased- new technologies required less people to make things People with more education had more skills and knowledge, so they benefited from the economy the most.

Transportation and Trade A Connected World Improved communication and transportation brought the world closer than before Cell phones and the Internet made communication faster then ever before Today, people get communication from around the world the moment something happens Transportation and Trade Better transportation and communication has increased trade with countries around the world Trade between people or countries is called Voluntary Trade Trade Agreements A Free-Trade Agreement is a treaty created to remove tax or tariffs on goods from other countries NAFTA removed taxes on items traded between USA, Canada, and Mexico
