The Mystery Behind The story The mystery is how and why it’s there? The history of Stonehenge dates back to 5,000 years when it was constructed by the Neolithic people.  History says it all that Stonehenge was a ceremonial center which related to fertility, death and rebirth. For the construction of Stonehenge, two chief stones were used- the 'bluestones' weighing four tons and the 'Sarsen' stones weighing twenty- five tons. During the last ice age glaciers carried the blue stones closer to the Stonehenge area.

The real hard facts The bluestones are the oldest among all the stones at Stonehenge and their original place has been changed many times since then. The stones have travelled 2,000 miles from the Preseli Hills in Wales. Remains found at the site included jewelry, stone arrowheads, tools made of deer antlers, and huge amounts of animal bones and broken pottery. These finds suggest Stone Age people went to the village at special times of the year “to feast and party.”

The stories and theories Some people think that Stonehenge was built by aliens. Current research shows suggesting that Stonehenge may already have been an important sacred site. The goodness of its location may have determined the layout of key aspects of the surrounding sacred landscape

Other stories and theories Found in Salisbury Plain, England, the Stonehenge is an iconic prehistoric monument that continues to mystify even the most renowned archeologists and researchers today. What may seem like just a bunch of stacked rocks may hold powerful secrets and information about our past. For one thing, archaeologists believe that the Stonehenge was created roughly around 3,000 BC to 1,800 BC. Since the Stonehenge is a man- made monument, it baffles experts on just how could our ancestors have built such difficult pillars with very limited tools and knowledge.

Evidence Stonehenge is an enigmatic prehistoric monument located on a chalky plain north of the modern day city of Salisbury, England. It was started 5,000 years ago and modified by ancient Britons over a period of 1,000 years.  Its purpose continues to be a mystery.

what We’ve come to We have come to a conclusion. Stonehenge was created as a burial ground or for sacrifices. We don’t think Stonehenge was made by aliens we think it was made by the Neolithic people.
