Presentation transcript:

What if reserves are underestimated? How can energy uncertainty have an effect on this? What would happen if energy prices went up sharply? Will population increase? At what rate? How will this affect energy demand and in turn how will it effect energy uncertainty? How will this effect energy demand? Where in the world will rising living standards lead to a large growth in energy consumption? Future performance of global economy Scale of global population growth Impact of rising living standards What if reserves are underestimated? What if reserves are overestimated? Who are the emergent economies? What will their requirements be? How will this affect supply? How will this effect current consumers? Size of Undiscovered oil and gas reserves Emergent economies’ energy demands Global energy uncertainty Possible contribution of ‘unconventional’ oil resources The scale of the possible switch to renewable energies Discovery of new energy technologies What if new technologies are found that can rival Fossil fuels? What if new technologies can only continue to produce a small percentage of supply? e.g. Tar sands. Which countries does this benefit? Think about consumers and producers? What effect on tradition oil supply areas? This is a technological fix – which countries are most likely to benefit? What if renewable energies can’t deliver?
