Presentation transcript:

How did you attract/address your audience?

How I attracted my audeince Use of colour: In my magazine I used bright colours, which were colours usually associated with pop and as this is my genre, I wanted to make it clear. Using bright colours made my magazine look vibrant and fun and therefore it would be more likely that my audience would be attracted to it. I also tried to create a house style by using a colour scheme so the audience would recognise the magazine. I also used to colour pink as my target audience is females and pink usually connotes feminity. Images- I made sure that all my images were clear and not blurry so that they were easily seen and stand out, attracting my audience. I made my main image of my model dominate the page and look forward directly at the audience to again attract my audience and make them interested. The use of eye contact on the front cover would help attract my audience as it gives of a sense of personalisation between the magazine and the viewer. I used bright lightening when taking my images to connote realism and a cheerful tone to attract my audience. Font- I used a variety of fonts in my magazine to make it look different and to make sure all the text didn’t look the same and boring. I used typography to attract my audience by using sans serif fonts to connote a modern but sophisticated and formal tone. I used Serif fonts to give a sense of a informal/friendly and fun tone. I also used Serif fonts a lot as it connotes a more youthful and modernity tone.

Puffs and offers- I used puffs and offers in my magazine to attract my audience as the puffs making them feel privileged and make them think as if they are getting something good out of the magazine e.g. gossip or top charts. I also used cover lines to attract the audience to buy the magazine by giving them snippets of what the magazine includes to make them interested. Layout- I tried to give my magazine a balance between a symmetrical layout and an asymmetrical layout. To attract my audience by making my magazine look formal and balance with a neat layout but also connote a more dynamic and interesting tone at the same time. Editors letter- I made sure my editors was a ‘chatty’ editors letter to attract my audience as the chatty tone promotes a feeling of a rapport and an inclusive relationship with the reader. Language- I used a friendly and ameliorative type of language to attract my audience as it would create personalisation and it would also be relatable as the audience could relate to that type of language. I used imperatives in the contents page ‘get the most out Of impulse’ to also attract my audience to subscribe to my Magazine. I used formal language to make the audience Feel that they are being taken seriously but also used informal language To attract my audience as it connotes a friendly tone making the Audience feel warm and included.

Annotation Bright colours to stand out and make the magazine eye catching. Plugs, Puffs and cover lines Pink- feminine colour. Model looking directly at reader, sense of ‘talking’ to reader.
