You need: To Do Today: Review Habits of Mind. Journal. Do Habits of Mind sort. Complete paint chip activity. Turn in Vocabulary Activity 1. You need: Your journal A pencil Your planner Your green folder Vocab. Activity I (Greek and Latin Roots)

In your journal, write about the following: Write the date at the top of the page (October 12 or 13, 2017). If you could add a fifth character to the Souls, whom would you add? Why? Be realistic and relevant. Think about the Souls’ team dynamics.

How do use them, or how have we used them recently? Habits of Mind What are they? How do use them, or how have we used them recently? Cut out the Habits of Mind and the descriptors. Sort with your group. Once you have sorted, glue them down. Write examples of the use of Habits of Mind: TVFS (at least 5 different examples from the book) Adventure Park Other personal examples (from your own life)

Paint Chip Activity Choose a paint chip color. Table 1: bi, bis mater, matr sci Table 2: bio orig scribe, script Table 3: gram ped (Greek) sim Table 4: graph ped (Latin) sum Table 5: init saur super Table 6: trib Paint Chip Activity Choose a paint chip color. Write your name on the back of the paint chip. Choose a root from the list under your table number. You may do more than one, but you need to finish the first one before you do another. As the shades increase, your derivatives should increase in complexity: 1st shade (top): Write your root with the meaning 2nd and 3rd shade: Write a derivative from that root with definition and part of speech (easy) 4th and 5th shades: Write another derivative from that root with definition and part of speech (medium) 6th and 7th shades: Write a third derivative from that root with definition and part of speech (hard) Write in pencil first; then go over it with black Sharpie. Use dictionaries and your Greek and Latin Roots sheet to help, if needed. Turn your paint chip into your class bin when finished. You may do another paint chip if you finish the first one. Choose any root you wish. Turn in your Greek and Latin Roots worksheet (Vocab Activity 1) to the bin.
