Washburn School District Technology 2012 Past, Present and Future

Past (2011-12 School Year) Upgraded our internet connection from 4Mbps to 10Mbps Upgraded our wireless infrastructure at the HS Replaced aging laptop cart at the MS with Netbooks Reworked the Elementary Computer Lab Installed security cameras at HS Created a new VLAN to separate security camera network traffic from data traffic Upgraded desktop computers for district support staff Attended SLATE (School Leaders Advancing Technology in Education) at Wisconsin Dells

Present Initiating an Apple iPad project for the district Moving Promethean Boards from HS to the Elementary School Installing ceiling mounted projectors in classrooms

Future Upgrade internet connection from 10Mbps to 24Mbps Upgrade memory in virtual server controllers to accommodate more virtual desktop/servers Promethean Board training for staff at the Elementary School (Matt Larson, after school Train staff on new technologies
