The Determined Kitty

There once was a brave little kitten named Katrina Kitty and all she ever wanted to do was dance. She was so passionate about ballet. Her goal was to become a beautiful ballet dancer when she grew up.

Katrina’s parents always warned her that it would not be easy pursuing her dreams. They told her that she would encounter many obstacles and deterrents but that anything worth having would take determination, perseverance, and even sacrifices.

Poor little Katrina Kitty did not understand why her parents would constantly tell her that, but she just agreed and went on with her daily tasks. She thought to herself, why would it be hard to achieve my goals.

Katrina went to school everyday and after school she would practice her ballet dance for two hours. She knew she needed to practice everyday if she wanted to be a great dancer.

New cats on the block Two new kitty students arrived at Katrina’s school during the year. When they arrived, everyone knew who they were because they were trouble makers and the rumors quickly spread through the school.

Katrina heard the rumors and chose not to judge the new students based on rumors. She decided that she will befriend them and show everyone they were wrong. She believed that everyone deserved a new start even if the rumors were true.

The next day at school Katrina approached the new students during recess. They all introduced each other and began to tell each other their interests and likes.

When it was Katrina’s turn, she started telling them how much she loved to dance and how long she’s been dancing. She even did a few dance moves and twirled around.

As soon as she started dancing, the other two cats began laughing hysterically at her. They embarrassed her and she didn’t understand why they were being so rude to her.

Katrina fled from the playground and was crying Katrina fled from the playground and was crying. No one has ever made her feel like this . When she arrived at home she told her parents what had happened.

Her parents consoled her and told her to not let negativity bring you down. You will always encounter an obstacle but you must find a way around it.

Stand up for yourself The next day at school Katrina confronted the two bullies and asked why were they making fun of her. They told her she danced ugly and that she should give it up. They also told her she will never make it as a professional ballet dancer

Katrina told them that they are probably just jealous and that as long as she remains determined and works hard, she can become anything she wants to be, and she walked away.

They continued to persuade her to hang with them and get into mischief but Katrina just ignored them and they eventually stopped bullying everyone. They realized that bullying left them lonely and constantly in trouble.

Katrina remained positive and continued her hard work and was very dedicated to pursuing her dreams. She grew up and became a professional ballet dancer and travels all over the world performing.
