NATIONWIDE OFFICIALS CAMP 2019 CAMP PHILOSOPHY

UPGRADE YOUR OFFICIATING & IMAGE This Camp is an opportunity for individual training over 4 days; take your opportunity, don’t waste it! BE’s goal is to improve our 3PO officiating and for this reason we have different educational materials and resources. We will be launching new programmes in the 2019 -2020 season and this Camp is part of the BDM process. In this Camp we will offer new strategies and advice to improve the quality of your officiating, through observation and feedback

UPGRADE YOUR OFFICIATING & IMAGE The Referee Coaches will observe and analyse the following aspects of your officiating: Behaviour Individual Image vs National / International Image 3PO Mechanics Criteria Strengths & Weaknesses Areas to improve and to continue to work on The Camp is to observe, train and improve via coaching, not only to evaluate you.

CAMP TRAINING METHODS Your practical work will be analysed but also in connection with the theory of your officiating. In every game the Referee Coach will analyse your 3PO, IOT and behaviour. The following morning there will be a feedback session where each crew will need to present a review of their game with video clips. Each day will include individual presentations on various subjects, but the staff will also be available to you at any time.

NATIONWIDE OFFICIALS CAMP 2019 DAILY PLAN & ORGANISATION

DAILY SESSIONS Different topics each day, but with one goal in mind – consistent criteria in all areas! Defined goals with a practical point of view. Your comments are welcome and needed! Change your ‘mindset’ and challenge yourself. Joint evolution – we all learn from each other, including the staff. “With opportunity comes responsibility”

POST GAME ANALYSIS You will be asked for your opinions on the game, about your personal officiating and the job of the crew and the teamwork. Focus on the 4 Step Feedback questions that you are asked and be specific in your answers An overall analysis will be made by the Referee Coach. If necessary during breakfast, during the day or evening there may be additional crew or individual meetings. There will be a general progress analysis from the staff each day.

NATIONWIDE OFFICIALS CAMP 2019 Thanks to BasketballEngland, Red Star Belgrade and City of Leeds Basketball Club, SouthEast Workwear, and Candobasketball for their support and cooperation. Watch the games, read the level of the tournament. Understand our role and responsibilities – We are on show as a group also representing British Basketball. We are ambassadors/sales people of BE officiating. We are also here to enjoy the time together on and off the court!
